This is What You Should and Shouldn’t Do for a Flawless Skin

Every skin is unique with a specific set of issues and goals. However, there are some basic rules all skin types can thrive on.

To make your skin glow and look healthy, you need to understand your type of skin, and more importantly, you should love your skin and try to be patient. Soon enough, you will no longer care for filters, concealers, and makeup products that hide your dull, tired, or damaged skin.

In fact, looking after your skin goes beyond applying tons of products.

Here are the things you should and shouldn’t do to maintain healthy and beautiful skin.

Never sleep with makeup on

Going to bed with makeup on will dramatically reduce your chances of having the beautiful, glowing skin you dream of while resulting in dull, suffocated skin and clogged pores, which can cause stubborn acne.

Just. Take. It. Off! For the sake of your skin.

Use a gentle makeup remover, moisturize your face, and then let your skin renew itself properly as you enjoy a good night’s sleep. Also, don’t forget to always sleep on a clean pillowcase, especially if you have acne-prone skin.

Pay attention to your diet

If you’re following an unbalanced, unhealthy diet, then you should expect your skin to pay the price. A bad diet can be the culprit behind acne, loss of radiance, visible lines, and decreased suppleness. To maintain healthy, radiant skin, you need to avoid binging on junk food. Instead, switch to a healthy diet full of nutritionally dense and non-processed foods, and don’t forget to drink plenty of water every day.

Remember, a healthy diet means healthy skin.

Do not touch your face

Although annoyingly tempting, it’s better to just leave those blackheads, bumps, and pimples the heck alone. Apart from a very clear whitehead that you can remove gently using two cotton pads. Picking at your face can make bacteria travel to other skin parts and increase inflammation of already affected spots.

To minimize inflammation, apply an ice cube followed by a salicylic acid spot treatment.

Embrace a healthy lifestyle

A healthy diet is not enough for better skin. You should also stay away from stressors and make sure to exercise regularly. Meditation and yoga can also help you maintain a healthy body, mind, and skin all at the same time.

Unfortunately, too much stress can weaken your skin, fasten the aging process and lead to several skin problems.

Sleep well, get rest, stay away from negativity, and do the things that make you happy.

Find a good skincare routine and stick to it

The best skincare routine includes a few simple steps that are easy to follow:

  • Cleansing twice a day
  • Toning
  • Moisturizing
  • Using a serum to treat your specific skin concerns
  • Applying sunscreen daily
  • Using a fragrance-free night cream
  • Exfoliating once or twice a week
  • Applying a face mask weekly

It’s best to apply skincare products in the correct order to get the most benefits.

For your morning routine: Use cleanser, toner, antioxidant serum, eye cream, acne spot treatment, moisturizer, and sunscreen.

Before bedtime: Use cleanser, toner, eye cream, treatments, hydrating mask, and finally, night cream.

Make sure to choose skincare products that work best for your skin type.
